Recreation Grounds Update

Football pitches are now available to book for the upcoming season. 

With the current Government guidance on COVID-19 we will have some measures in place until further notice.  

Club responsibilities COVID-19
As outlined on the FA website, all teams are responsible for developing a Covid-19 plan and risk assessment prior to the restart of any activity. Please ensure you have this in place. 

The same procedures will apply this season. All football pitches must be booked in advance. Please make sure you book in advance and not just show up for matches. If we haven’t received a booking for a certain pitch, it is unlikely it will be marked out and cut for that weekend. For this reason, pitch bookings must be made by 12 noon on the Wednesday before the weekend of the match. 

Confirmation of your booking will be sent to you via email so please make sure all your club details are up to date.

Like previous seasons we are also unable to accept pitch bookings for the next month until after the 15th of the current month, this is due to league rearrangements etc. 

Booking Line Opening Hours:
Monday – Tuesday: 9am – 2pm
Wednesday: 9am – 12pm
Last booking is 12 noon on the Wednesday before the weekend of the match.

Notice of cancellation must be received no later than 48 Hours before your game, otherwise a fee will be incurred. You must make this clear to the AWAY team on your match confirmation that if they pull out of a game with less than 48 hours’ notice they will be liable for the hire charges, the same applies to you as the home team. Obviously, there will be no charge should we or the referee cancel the match.

Up-keep of Pitches
It is the home teams’ responsibility to ensure that all litter left on the pitch sides after games by the footballers or their supporters are collected and put in the bins provided or taken home. Unfortunately, failure to do so will result in the home team incurring additional costs. 

Currently due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic we will be unable to let teams use the pavilions for the foreseeable future. There will be toilet facilities available at each of our sites, at Avisford Park public toilets are available. Please ensure that all users using toilet facilities abide by and follow Public Health England guidelines on sanitising and hygiene. This decision has been made considering the current Government guidance as well as the guidance by the FA, and in agreement with Arun District Council. We will provide further updates as and when we can.

Unfortunately, due to the ground conditions of the pitches this year we will not be booking pitches for any friendly matches.
