Visitors to Norfolk Gardens in Littlehampton will find a new café experience awaiting them as ‘Lifestyle in the Gardens’ opens its newly refurbished doors.
The café which has been closed since the autumn of 2015 has received a major overhaul including a substantial update to the kitchen including new equipment, complete redecoration and new flooring.
The realisation of ‘Lifestyle in the Gardens’ has been through the close partnership working of Arun District Council and ISS Lifestyle who undertake the management and delivery of the Council’s Outdoor Recreation Service. It is this true partnership working which exists between the two organisations which has seen the turnaround and success of the café.
The locally sourced menu includes homemade cakes, freshly baked bread products, delicious ice-creams, Barista-style coffee and a wide selection of teas. The homely and warm service is delivered by locally recruited staff, all of whom have undergone full Barista training.
Drawing inspiration from the character of the location, ISS Lifestyle aspire to do more than just serve good food and beverages; the café is designed to be light and airy reflecting the nearby seafront, welcoming to people using the park’s facilities, a place to meet friends, bring the children, or have a ‘dog-walk’ break. With great views of the sea, the miniature railway and the tennis courts, Lifestyle in the Gardens is ideal for all local community residents and holidaymakers alike.
Keeping the theme of community, during the summer months, the walls of ‘Lifestyle in the Gardens’ will be showcasing the talent of local artists whose paintings will be available for purchase or simply to sit and admire.
Justin Simpson, Manager, ISS Lifestyle said:
“the success of the venture has been solely down to the partnership working between ISS and Arun District Council. Both parties have been pleased and dedicated to invest in this facility and we are committed to using locally sourced produce and creating new jobs for local people. We wanted to create a place where people could relax and unwind and enjoy a beautiful location.”
Councillor Terence Chapman, Arun District Council’s Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, said:
“The Council has worked closely with ISS Lifestyle to get this project up and running and we are delighted to see the refurbished café open for business. It is an excellent facility, providing the opportunity for people to enjoy good food, in good company with fantastic sea views and is already proving to be very popular.”
